BLUE SERIES

The settings Eduardo Garcia borrows from nature and from the world of matter stir in our memory an attempt to formulate and establish principles and ideas about the anarchic, in the fusing of different oxidations and in the dynamic colour structures of his series. With a constructive will, Garcia proceeds by superimposing planes, setting reason against the purely visual order.

The visual sensations of Garcia's appropriations from the things of the world call up remnants of sea, fields, a mapping of the universe, waste ground, streets, industrial displays, all of which carry the intelligible: they are transported echoes which, recomposed, formulate; it is time that is being spoken of. One finds "things" seen every day that acquire meaning only in a sudden opening. Reconstituting the body of the canvas, he finds fissures and hidden passages, unveils colours, breathes, and reveals what had been left lost and unopposed. The artist makes himself in the painting; in an aleatory process he brings forward his witnesses, where the making is exclusively his seriation, his accidents, his outward echo. The abruptness of his images carries, nonetheless, the refinement of his poetics, the creator's resentment. The painting as work-object is the result of this effort, this struggle, and it bears the marks and the setbacks of that effort and of listening to the creator's own interior.
